RiGustavo Lourenço’s RTR Unveils the 799e Scrambler, a Minimalist Premium Electric Motorbike

RTR (Ride the Revolution) is the latest electric motorbike startup that aims to revolutionize the industry with its flagship offering, the 799e scrambler. But what sets RTR apart from the rest is its founder, Gustavo Lourenço, an internationally famous custom bike builder behind Retrorides by Lourenço, who has been handcrafting custom machines for over 30 years.

After dedicating his life to building some of the most intriguing custom bikes, Lourenço has turned his attention to decarbonizing one of his favorite things in the world, and he wants to take riders along for the journey. The 799e scrambler is currently undergoing homologation in Brazil as of March 2023, with plans to start rolling out to customers in December 2023.

The 799e is a clean and minimalist bike that boasts an 8-kilowatt motor and a top speed of 127 kilometers per hour (just under 79 mph). It has a claimed range of 120 kilometers (74.5 miles) on a single charge and can be charged using a standard household outlet in just five hours. The battery pack is a 7.7-kilowatt hour lithium-ion unit, and the bike has no clutch to worry about.

While full specs are not yet available, RTR is positioning the 799e as its premium electric motorbike offering, with plans to release a more affordable bike for the masses after the successful launch of the 799e. The bike is also customizable, and interested parties can request more information through RTR’s website.

Design-wise, the 799e boasts a tidy-looking digital display, a USB outlet for easy phone charging, and an onboard storage compartment for small items. It also has an LED headlight, drop-down bar-end mirrors, and a retro-modern skid plate that surrounds the leading corner of the battery pack, making it a pleasingly aesthetically designed bike.

The true test of the 799e, however, will be in the riding experience and how well it is received once it makes its way to customers. But with Gustavo Lourenço’s expertise and passion for custom bikes, RTR’s flagship offering may just be the revolution the electric motorbike industry needs.
