Tesla Unveils Revolutionary Real-World Crash Testing Safety System

Tesla has released a new video showcasing its avant-garde real-world crash test safety system, claiming that it is unparalleled in its design.

Tesla has always taken pride in its safety standards and has established itself as a leader in the field. In addition to the inherent safety advantages of electric vehicles, such as a lower center of gravity and more space for crumple zones, Tesla has dedicated itself to advancing its testing procedures. The companyā€™s Japanese Twitter account recently released a video that takes viewers behind the scenes of Teslaā€™s crash safety system.

The video showcases Tesla’s triumphs in the crash testing center and the company’s distinctive approach to safety testing. As previously announced by Tesla, the company’s significant industry advantage stems from the fact that each vehicle on the road functions as a crash-testing vehicle. When a Tesla car is involved in an accident, the vehicle can inform analysts of the precise location of impact, the force of impact, the number of occupants in the vehicle, the timing of the airbag deployment, and more. This data can then be utilized to refine vehicle safety, making real-world crashes safer.

Aside from real-world testing, Tesla also displayed its testing facility, which is akin to the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration or the European New Car Assessment Programme, enabling the automaker to conduct real-world vehicle simulations and scrutinize the outcomes in greater detail.

Tesla has not disclosed the changes it has made based on the system’s findings. However, with a wealth of information at its disposal, there is no doubt that the company has the potential to make significant improvements.

Tesla’s exceptional safety record extends beyond its internal testing. The Tesla Model Y recently received the highest possible safety rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, while the Tesla Model 3 received the second-highest rating.

As both consumers and regulators strive to enhance vehicle safety standards in the years ahead, data on the location and force of impacts will become increasingly valuable to automakers. Although other automakers are likely to create similar systems in the future, it is heartening to know that Tesla has already implemented these life-saving innovations.
