Aion Hyper GT Electric Sedan Unveiled in China with a Starting Price of $43,000

Aion, a relatively new player in the electric car industry, has just released its latest offering, the Hyper GT. While the vehicle has been making the rounds in the form of official images, there are now more details available for those eager to learn more. The best news? The car is already available for purchase in China!

The Hyper GT is the first car in Aion’s premium lineup, with the next model, the Hyper SSR, set to follow soon. Until now, the company has been manufacturing small, affordable electric cars for younger drivers. However, with the release of the Hyper GT, Aion is making a bold statement about its future direction.

One of the most impressive features of the Hyper GT is its drag coefficient of just 0.19, making it one of the most aerodynamic electric cars on the market. With the Lightyear no longer in production, the Hyper GT now holds the crown for the world’s most aerodynamic electric vehicle. Lucid Air comes in a close second with a Cd of 0.197.

The design of the car is focused on achieving the least drag possible, with active aero panels in the front bumper and a rear spoiler that activates at speeds of over 80 km/h (50 mph). This, in turn, leads to a longer range for the vehicle.

The Hyper GT is equipped with several HD cameras and three LiDAR sensors to offer Level 2 ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems). Aion refers to it as L2.5, as the car offers more advanced autonomous driving than Level 2 but not as advanced as Level 3. Thanks to its mmWave radars and ultrasonic radar, combined with the LiDAR and cameras, the car is a step forward in driver assistance technology.

The car comes with one electric motor at launch, with a dual-motor 600 hp version to come later. The single motor packs a serious punch, with 340 hp and 434 Nm, allowing the car to go from 0 to 100 km/h in just under 5 seconds.

The interior of the Hyper GT is just as impressive as the exterior, with bright colors and sumptuous materials creating a luxurious feel. The attention to detail is remarkable, with the key resembling a Zippo lighter made out of crystal and titanium. The only buttons on the car are two scroll wheels on the steering wheel and a gear selector on the stalk, with everything else controlled via the central screen.

The driver even has their own display placed almost at the foot of the windshield. There is also a large double wireless charging pad in the center console to accommodate large smartphones. The passenger cabin is spacious and the seats are comfortable, with the sound system featuring speakers built into the headrests. The car’s full-length panoramic roof completes the premium experience.

With its impressive range, advanced features, and luxurious design, the Hyper GT is sure to be a hit with electric car enthusiasts.
