BYD to Launch Upgraded 2023 Han EV with Four Improvements in March

Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer, BYD, is gearing up for the launch of its 2023 Han EV in mid-March. The highly anticipated release has already created a buzz in the EV market, with some details about the car having already been leaked. According to reports from BYD dealers, the starting price for the 2023 Han EV will be approximately 225,000 RMB (32,600 USD).

One of the most significant upgrades to the 2023 BYD Han EV is its appearance. The new model will be available in a stylish Glacier Blue color, and its 506 and 605 km range versions will feature the new Genesis Edition styling, adding a touch of luxury to the vehicle’s design.

Another notable improvement in the 2023 Han EV is its enhanced comfort features. The flagship model will now come with ambient lighting, upgraded Dynaudio, heat pump air conditioning, and steering wheel heating, making for a more comfortable and enjoyable driving experience.

The chassis performance of the entire series has also been upgraded, with standard aluminum alloy suspension across all models. The front-wheel drive version will also come with FSD variable damping suspension as standard.

The 2023 Han EV’s intelligence has also been upgraded, with a 5G in-car connection, Apple NFC car key, and new BSD blind spot monitoring functions available for the Noble trim level with 605 and 705 km of range.

Powertrain options for the 2023 Han EV Genesis will remain unchanged, with both front-wheel drive and four-wheel drive versions available. The front-wheel drive model boasts a maximum power output of 180 kW, peak torque of 350 Nm, and a 100-kilometer acceleration time of 7.9 seconds. It will also offer three range options, with ranges of 506 km, 605 km, and 715 km. The four-wheel drive version, on the other hand, has a combined power output of 380 kW, a torque of 700 Nm, and an acceleration time of just 3.9 seconds. The range for the four-wheel drive version is 610 km.

In 2022, BYD sold a whopping 274,016 units of its Han sedan, an increase of 133% YoY. The EV version of the Han sold 144,665 units, with 1,245 of them being exported, while the PHEV version sold 129,351 units. In China’s pure electric car market, where prices exceed 200,000 RMB, the Han EV was the best-selling vehicle, with 143,420 units sold. The Tesla Model 3 came in second, with 124,456 units sold, and the Zeekr 001 was in third place, with 71,941 units sold.
