Hankook’s Ventus S1 evo 3 ev Tyres Chosen for Volkswagen’s Electric ID. Buzz

Volkswagen has partnered with Hankook to equip its new electric vehicle, the ID. Buzz, with premium tyres for optimal performance. The Ventus S1 evo 3 ev tyre, designed specifically for battery-powered vehicles, has been specially developed for the ID. Buzz.

The 18-inch entry-level tyres are exclusive to the ID. Buzz Cargo, while the 21-inch version is available for the electric bus ID. Buzz, making it the first Hankook premium passenger car tyre with the “HL” load index designation.

During the 2.5-year development phase, tyre tuning was a major challenge due to the high permissible total weight of the VW ID. Buzz and the distinct driving dynamics similar to that of a passenger car.

The Hankook Ventus S1 evo 3 ev offers excellent all-round qualities with exemplary rolling resistance, weight, load-bearing capacity, and comfort. The premium tyre’s specially designed tread compound ensures high abrasion resistance and low noise emissions. Compared to a comparable B-rated tyre, the Label A tyre can increase range up to 30 kilometres per battery charge.

The 21-inch version of the Ventus S1 evo 3 ev has a steel-based reinforcement in the bead area, which contributes to higher sidewall stiffness for dynamic, direct steering feedback. The aerodynamically optimised contour of the rim protection strip also offers more reach.

The Ventus S1 evo 3 ev in HL 235/45 R21 104T XL and HL 265/40 R21 108T XL for the ID. Buzz is the first passenger car tyre with the “HL” load index designation in the Hankook portfolio, designed to support the driving characteristics of the VW ID. Buzz.

The 21-inch version is equipped with Hankook SEALGUARD® sealing material as a further comfort and safety feature, which automatically seals punctures of up to five millimetres in diameter in the tyre tread area. With SEALGUARD®, the driver can continue driving even in the event of a nail puncture, eliminating the need for a potentially dangerous roadside wheel change. This technology offers the same level of comfort as tyres without SEALGUARD®.
