Dacia, the European automaker known for its affordable cars, has announced its first ever hybrid electric vehicle (HEV) with the launch of the Jogger HYBRID 140. This seven-seat model aims to redefine its segment with its advanced petrol-electric drivetrain and competitive pricing.
The Jogger HYBRID 140, which is already a success story with more than 83,000 orders and 51,000 registrations worldwide in under a year, is now available for UK customers to order. Priced at just £22,595 on-the-road, it is the best value seven-seat hybrid on the market. The Jogger HYBRID 140 Expression is also available for a low monthly cost of £267, with a customer deposit of £2,812. Deliveries are set to begin in the second quarter of the year.
The Jogger HYBRID 140 is powered by a normally aspirated 90hp 1.6-liter petrol engine, along with twin electric motors that provide a total of 50hp, and a high voltage starter/generator. The drivetrain is paired with a 1.2 kWh (230V) battery and a multi-mode automatic transmission. This combination allows for full electric start and instantaneous torque, smooth electric-only driving, and a choice of driving modes to suit different driving conditions. With 140 horsepower, the Jogger HYBRID 140 can accelerate from 0 to 62mph in just 10.1 seconds, while emitting only 112g/km of CO2 and achieving up to 56.5 mpg (WLTP combined).
The Jogger HYBRID 140, Dacia’s first ever hybrid electric vehicle (HEV), boasts advanced technology that allows it to spend up to 80% of its time on urban roads in full-electric mode, reducing fuel consumption by up to 40% compared to its petrol-only counterpart. And unlike many hybrids, the Jogger HYBRID 140 doesn’t require plug-in charging, making it a convenient option for drivers.
The car’s regenerative braking system and high energy recovery of the 1.2 kWh (230V) battery work together to make this possible. The car’s automatic gearbox also has a special “B” mode that amplifies regenerative braking and increases engine braking, further optimizing energy recovery and comfort in urban driving conditions.
The Jogger HYBRID 140 is not only a fuel-efficient option but also a versatile and comfortable one. Its design blends the features of a sport tourer and an SUV, with the added benefit of hybrid technology. The car has a spacious interior and no reduction in load capacity, as well as innovative features such as removable third-row seats and modular roof bars. The hybrid drivetrain is also exclusive to the Jogger HYBRID 140, it has a 7-inch instrument cluster which shows information like the remaining battery charge and estimated range.
The Jogger HYBRID 140 comes in two trim levels: the Expression and the Extreme SE. The Expression comes with standard features like front and rear parking sensors, reversing camera, blind spot warning, keyless entry, heated and electric adjustable door mirrors, automatic wipers and air conditioning, and an 8-inch media display with DAB radio, smartphone replication, Bluetooth, and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The Extreme SE version adds 16-inch black alloy wheels, sliding tray tables, heated front seats, and an 8-inch MediaNav infotainment system with integrated navigation and six speakers. The only option for exterior color is a exclusive Shadow Grey metallic paint, that available for both versions.
The hybrid drivetrain also comes with a 8-year/100,000-mile warranty on the battery, in addition to the car’s standard 3-year/60,000-mile warranty, adding to the car’s overall quality and value.
