Zeekr announced that the 2023 Zeekr 001 is now available to purchase bringing several enhancements to the car’s internal and external features. One of these is the option to select Qilin Batteries from CATL for their Zeekr 001.
The 2023 Zeekr 001 comes in four basic configuration options: two WE Editions, one ME Edition, and one YOU Edition.
The WE edition of the Zeekr 001 comes in two versions: one with a 100 kWh battery and a range of 741 km. This version has a single motor driving the rear wheels, and can accelerate from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in 6.9 seconds. The second version comes with an 86 kWh battery and a range of 546 km. This version is equipped with two motors that drive all four wheels, and has a faster acceleration time of 3.8 seconds from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour.
The ME Edition and YOU Edition of the Zeekr 001 use a battery with 100 kWh, two motors for all-wheel drive, and have a range of 656 kilometers. The ME Edition and YOU Edition can accelerate from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in 3.8 seconds.
The base price of the WE Edition of the Zeekr 001 has been raised to RMB 300,000 ($43,500), while the ME Edition and YOU Edition retail at their original prices of RMB 349,000 and 386,000 respectively.
The Z-Sport package is an additional feature for the YOU Edition with a 100 kWh battery pack. This package can be purchased for RMB 35,000. Zeekr is also offering performance wheelset packages for the ME Edition with a 100 kWh battery pack and YOU Edition with a 100 kWh battery pack for RMB 19,000.
Zeekr is also offering a single-motor WE version with a 100 kWh package equipped with a 140 kWh Qilin Battery. With this battery, it gives the CLTC a range of 1,032 kilometers. The Zeekr 001 with Qilin battery is limited to 1,000 units available and can be purchased at an additional cost of RMB 103,000.
CATL introduced Qilin batteries, also known as CTP (cell to pack) 3.0 batteries, on June 23 with the aim of enhancing battery system integration. At that time, the company claimed that the Qilin Battery enables a volume utilization of over 72 percent and an energy density of 255Wh/kg, which enables a vehicle range of 1,000 kilometers.
CATL announced on August 27 that Zeekr will be the brand’s first vehicle to use Qilin Batteries, and the Zeekr 009 MPV will be the first vehicle to be powered by Qilin Batteries. CATL also stated that the Zeekr 009 will be the first vehicle to be powered by Qilin Batteries.
