Hyundai announced that it will embed the new technology on all its models. This latest software will make all Hyundai cars integrated.
Hyundai announced a new global strategy to transform all vehicles into Software Defined Vehicles (SDV) by 2025. By 2025, it is targeting 20 million vehicles to be registered with connected car services worldwide.
With SDV technology, consumers are given the freedom to remotely enhance vehicle performance and functionality anywhere and anytime.
HMG’s ever-evolving mobility technology and software will ensure that all models, including those already purchased, stay ahead of the curve.
Thus, enabling vehicle functions, including safety, comfort, connectivity, security, and driving performance, to be enhanced through Over-The-Air (OTA) device updates.
Based on HMG’s next-generation EV platform, integrated controller, and the internally developed Connected Car Operating System (ccOS), all vehicles from HMG will be equipped to receive the Over-The-Air (OTA) software update by 2025.
Furthermore, the data connected car will be connected to HMG’s future mobility solutions, including Purpose Built Vehicles (PBVs), Advanced Air Mobility (AAM), robotaxis and robots.
Chung Kook Park, President and Head of R&D Division of HMG, said, “By transforming the entire vehicle line into SDV by 2025, HMG will completely redefine the concept of a car and continue to lead the way into a new era of mobility.
“Creating a visionary vehicle equipped with the ability to evolve through software will allow customers to keep their car at the forefront with the latest features and technologies, even after long periods of production from the factory,” said Park, in an official statement.
HMG will also invest heavily in software technology aimed at integrating hardware and software technologies, as well as enhancing and internalizing the capacity of HMG’s mobility technology.
By 2030, Hyundai plans to invest 18 trillion Korean won in resources, including the establishment of a new Global Software Center to enhance its software capabilities and accelerate SDV development.
