Bajaj and KTM have teamed up to create a high-end electric motorcycle platform. However, it is not yet clear what environmentally friendly two-wheelers will be developed by the two manufacturers from different countries.
“We are in discussions with KTM, and there is an ongoing collaboration where we are looking at a platform for a high-end motorcycle,” said Bajaj Auto executive director Rakesh Sharma.
Bajaj itself has stated, although the model has not been revealed, but the Indian manufacturer will carry out a strategy to popularize the e-Chetak electric scooter.
This strategy is expected to increase sales of the electric scooter, especially in the second quarter of the 2022 fiscal year.
“Hopefully it will be doubled or almost doubled from the first quarter. It all depends on the supply chain,” said Sharma while saying that 16,000 units of the electric scooter had been ordered.
