Nezha S Yaoshi EV Special Edition comes with 456 HP and range up to 444 miles

A few months after the first photos of the fully electric Nezha S were revealed, the Tesla competitor has officially launched in the Chinese market. The Chinese manufacturer released prices and detailed specifications of the standard EV, alongside the recently announced special edition “Yaoshi” scissor door.

Starting with the specifications, the Nezha S is based on the “Shanghai” architecture by Hozon, which allows it to be offered in a full electric (BEV) range-extender (EREV) variant.

The AWD model is equipped with dual electric motors producing a combined 456 hp (340 kW / 462 PS) allowing it to accelerate from 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 3.9 seconds, and can reach a limited top speed of 170 km/h. hours (106 mph). While the battery capacity has yet to be announced, Nezha says it offers a driving range of up to 650 km (404 miles) under a CLTC cycle.

As reported by Car News China, in the future, the Nezha S will also be available in RWD form with a single electric motor that can accelerate from 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 6.9 seconds and a driving distance of about 715 km. (444 miles). Then, a range-extender variant will be added to the lineup that offers the best range at 1,100 km (684 miles).

The Nezha S EV measures approximately 4,980 mm (196 inches) long, 1,980 mm (78 inches) wide and 1,450 mm (57.1 inches) high, with a wheelbase of 2,980 mm (117.3 inches). Those numbers make it exactly as long as the Tesla Model S, and slightly longer than the Mercedes-Benz EQE. In addition, the aerodynamic silhouette carries a cd value of 0.216.

The EV will be launched with a special edition called “Yaoshi” which will be produced only 999 units. The biggest highlight of the Nezha S Yaoshi is the addition of a scissor-style door, which is not present on the standard Nezha S variant. In addition to Lambo-style doors, this limited model has a new wheel design wrapped in black, with green brake linings. Buyers can choose between three exterior colors, namely Magic Night Black, Extreme Night Green, and Rushing Silver.

Standard equipment includes LED lighting, panoramic sunroof, 13.3-inch digital instrument cluster, large 17.6-inch 2K infotainment touchscreen, third 12.3-inch screen for front passenger, head-up display and 21-speaker 1,216 Watt sound system.

Safety equipment is also quite complete, with a five-millimeter wave radar and eleven cameras, which will be combined with two LiDAR sensors in later model variants. Nezha’s goal is to offer Level 4 autonomy, something that could be achieved with a future OTA update.

The Nezha S Yaoshi is already available for pre-order in China, with prices starting at 338,800 yuan. The first deliveries are expected in July. Owners will get 2,000 kWh of free energy per year to charge their EVs using the Nezha grid.
