The Denza D9 is a luxury MPV car jointly by BYD and Mercedes-Benz for the Chinese market. Interestingly, this Denza will use an electric powertrain in this large luxury MPV car. On its first sale, the Denza D9 got 3,000 orders in just 30 minutes.
Dimensionally, the Denza D9 has a length of 5,250 mm, a width of 1,950 mm, a height of 1,920 mm, and a wheelbase of 3,110 mm.
Interestingly, this Denza D9 comes with several seating configurations, namely 4 seater and 7 seater and is intended for business people and executives who want the luxury of an MPV.
One other interesting thing that some of its competitors don’t even have is the presence of a pure electric engine for this Denza D9. This car uses an electric battery from BYD blade battery type.
But they do not explain the specifications of the battery used. However, the claim is that this car can run up to 600 km with a full charge of up to 166 kW.
Besides coming with a pure electric engine, the Denza D9 also comes with a Plug-In Hybrid engine. The engine used is a 1,500 cc, 4 cylinder with Turbo which is also assisted by an electric motor and a slightly smaller battery.
When run in full electric mode, this car can run as far as 190 km with 980 kWh DC charging. This means that when combined with the use of conventional engines, the variant with this Plug-In Hybrid engine can run up to 1,040 km.
This car is equipped with a large panoramic sunroof. Next, there is a mini fridge at the bottom of the arm rest, as well as a seat that can be adjusted in 10 positions, complete with heating and cooling features, as well as a massage function.
Currently, the new Denza D9 is available specifically for the Chinese market with a left-hand drive configuration. It is not yet known whether this car will also be exported or presented with a right-hand drive configuration or not.
Talking about the price, it can be said that it is very attractive because it is slightly more affordable than its competitors. Prices are set for this car from 335,000 Yuan to 460,000 Yuan. In addition, there is also a special edition which sells only 99 units at a price of 660,000 Yuan.
