Pilot Company, General Motors and EVgo have expanded their joint electric vehicle fast-charging network to more than 300 locations across the United States, with over 1,300 fast-charging stalls now operating in 40 states.
According to the companies, the network covers approximately 75% of the contiguous United States, spanning more than 2.2 million square miles and providing charging access along major interstate travel corridors.
Network Continues Nationwide Expansion
The charging partnership was launched in 2022 to expand public fast-charging infrastructure for long-distance electric vehicle travel.
Pilot said the network has received a PlugShare user rating of 9.41 out of 10 as of July 2026.
Charging locations are situated at Pilot travel centers and typically provide amenities including 24-hour access, free Wi-Fi, restrooms, food and retail services. Selected sites also feature overhead canopies, pull-through charging stalls for vehicles towing trailers and windshield cleaning stations.
Scott Hundley, Director of Light Duty EV and Infrastructure at Pilot, said the latest milestone reflects the company’s ongoing rollout of charging infrastructure across the country.
Supporting Interstate EV Travel
The companies said the expanded network enables charging along several major interstate routes, including corridors linking Texas and Florida, Tennessee and South Carolina, Michigan and Florida, and routes across the southwestern United States.
William Hotchkiss, Head of Public Charging at General Motors, said the expansion increases access to public charging for drivers undertaking longer journeys.
Dennis Kish, President of EVgo, said continued investment in public charging infrastructure is intended to support the growing number of electric vehicle owners traveling longer distances.
The three companies have continued expanding the network as electric vehicle adoption increases and demand grows for reliable charging infrastructure along major US highways.
