bp pulse has opened its first electric vehicle charging site in Louisiana, adding a new location to its growing charging network in the United States.
The facility is located at a Travel Centers of America (TA) site in Slidell, Louisiana, near Interstate 10. The charging hub includes 12 charging bays equipped with both Combined Charging System (CCS) and North American Charging Standard (NACS) connectors.
According to bp pulse, the chargers are capable of delivering charging speeds of up to 400 kW, depending on vehicle compatibility.
Expansion Into Louisiana
The Slidell site marks bp pulse’s entry into the Louisiana market and is part of the company’s broader deployment of EV charging infrastructure across the United States.
The charging station is situated at a travel center that offers amenities including a convenience store, restaurants, restrooms, an ATM and designated accessible parking spaces.
The location also includes pull-through charging bays designed to accommodate a range of vehicle types.
Part of Wider U.S. Charging Strategy
bp pulse said the Louisiana project supports its plans to install charging infrastructure at Travel Centers of America and Petro locations across the country.
The company is also expanding charging facilities at sites operated under bp-owned retail brands, including bp, Amoco, ampm and Thorntons, as well as at other locations.
The United States is one of bp pulse’s key markets, alongside its operations in other regions.
Growing Charging Infrastructure Network
The launch follows additional charging deployments by bp pulse in states including Virginia and Texas as the company continues to expand its network.
The development comes as charging providers across the United States increase investments in public charging infrastructure to support a growing number of electric vehicles on the road.
The Slidell site adds another charging location along a major transportation corridor and expands charging options available to EV drivers traveling through the region.
