General Motors has named Valeo its Supplier of the Year in the advanced driver-assistance systems category for the fourth consecutive year, while also recognizing the company’s heating, ventilation and air conditioning operations in Brazil.
The awards were announced from Valeo’s North American headquarters in Troy as part of General Motors’ annual supplier recognition program, which evaluates suppliers based on innovation, quality and operational scale across the automaker’s global supply chain.
Valeo said the ADAS award recognizes its portfolio of driver-assistance technologies that combine cameras, radar and ultrasonic sensors to create a 360-degree digital view of a vehicle’s surroundings.
The company said the systems support driving and parking assistance functions and form part of its broader strategy to support the automotive industry’s transition toward software-defined vehicles.
“Our ADAS teams are grateful to earn this honor for the fourth consecutive time,” said Jeffrey Shay, president of Valeo North America.
“We value the trust GM places in our ADAS products, and share their vision for a future with zero accidents,” Shay added.
Valeo said the latest recognition continues a series of General Motors ADAS supplier awards dating back to 2023.
The company has also been expanding hardware and software operations in North America through its Elevate 2028 strategy, which focuses on software-defined vehicle technologies.
Separately, Valeo received a second 2026 Supplier of the Year award for its HVAC systems manufactured in Brazil for the South American market.
The company said the systems are designed to manage cabin air exchange and filter pollutants while reducing carbon dioxide and moisture buildup inside vehicles.
Mauro Dias, national director of Valeo Brazil, said the award reflected collaboration between Valeo and General Motors in the South American market.
“I am honored to receive this recognition on behalf of our team in Brazil, where the complete HVAC systems recognized by GM are manufactured for the South American market,” Dias said.
“It’s a testament to the truly collaborative partnership we’ve established, which is a powerful motivator to continue delivering the high standards GM expects,” he added.
Valeo has operated in Brazil since 1974 and is one of the country’s largest automotive technology suppliers.
The awards come as automakers increasingly rely on suppliers for software-defined vehicle technologies, advanced safety systems and integrated thermal management solutions.
