Nio reported continued year-on-year delivery growth in April, although shipments declined from the previous month amid ongoing pressure in China’s automotive market.
The company delivered 29,356 vehicles in April, up 22.83% from a year earlier, according to figures released on Friday. Deliveries, however, fell 17.27% from March’s total of 35,486 vehicles.

The company’s premium main brand delivered 19,024 vehicles in April, down 1.27% year-on-year and 15.41% lower than the previous month.
Nio’s family-focused Onvo sub-brand delivered 5,352 vehicles, representing a 21.64% increase from a year earlier, though deliveries declined 22.18% from March levels.
Meanwhile, the Firefly brand delivered 4,980 vehicles in April, rising more than twentyfold year-on-year despite an 18.61% sequential decline. Firefly officially began customer deliveries on April 29, 2025.

For the first four months of 2026, Nio delivered a cumulative 112,821 vehicles, marking a 70.96% increase compared with the same period last year.
The company is targeting annual delivery growth of between 40% and 50% in 2026 after delivering 326,028 vehicles during 2025.
Nio is also preparing several new vehicle launches aimed at supporting future sales momentum. On April 28, the company opened pre-sales for the Onvo L80 large five-seat SUV at a starting price of 245,800 yuan. The model is scheduled for official launch on May 15 and is viewed as important to improving the company’s delivery trajectory.

Earlier in April, Nio unveiled its flagship Nio ES9 SUV and began pre-sales with pricing starting at 528,000 yuan, including the battery pack. The ES9 is expected to launch officially later this month, with first customer deliveries scheduled for June 1.
William Li, founder, chairman, and chief executive of Nio, said the company expects the new models to help drive delivery growth in May and June.
