Rivian has provided additional details on the Launch Package for its Rivian R2 Performance variant, outlining a set of features included at no additional cost for early customers.
The automaker said the package will be available for a limited time and is intended to offer added value to initial buyers. Among the included features is a standard tow package, enabling the R2 Performance to tow up to 4,400 lbs (1,996 kg). This compares with the Jeep Recon, which has a lower stated towing capacity.

The Launch Package also includes a lifetime subscription to Rivian’s Autonomy+ system, which provides hands-free driving capability across more than 3.5 million miles of mapped roads in the United States and Canada. The feature is typically priced at $49.99 per month or $2,500 as a one-time purchase.
Additional elements include a redesigned key fob with a carabiner-style form factor and a green anodized finish, as well as access to an exclusive exterior color option called Launch Green. Other available colors include Esker Silver, Catalina Cove, Half Moon Grey, Glacier White, Midnight, and Forest Green.

The R2 Performance is priced from $57,990 and is equipped with a dual-motor all-wheel-drive system producing 656 hp (489 kW) and 609 lb-ft (825 Nm) of torque. The vehicle can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 3.6 seconds and has an estimated driving range of up to 330 miles (531 km).
Other features include matrix LED headlights, integrated tow hooks, and a rear liftgate with drop-down glass. The interior is offered in two configurations — Black Crater and Coastal Cloud — both featuring birch wood trim and textile materials. Standard equipment includes 12-way power front seats with heating and ventilation, heated rear seats, a heated steering wheel, and a nine-speaker audio system. A removable flashlight integrated into the driver’s door is also included.
The Launch Package reflects Rivian’s approach of bundling additional features for early adopters as the company begins production of its new R2 model.
