BMW has increased the base price of its new iX3 electric SUV by €2,000, even though the official dealer launch is not scheduled until early March, according to the company’s online configurator.
At its world premiere at IAA Mobility last autumn, BMW announced a starting price of €68,900 for the iX3 50 xDrive, the only drivetrain variant initially available. The model features a 345-kW all-wheel-drive system and a 108-kWh battery with an 800-volt architecture. At the time, expectations were that the base price could decline once additional variants, such as rear-wheel-drive or smaller-battery versions, were introduced.

Instead, BMW has moved in the opposite direction. The iX3 50 xDrive is now listed in the configurator at €70,900, a €2,000 increase from the launch price. BMW has not issued an official statement on the change, which was first reported by industry portal Autonotizen.
The price adjustment coincides with the first updates to the model, announced before its formal market entry. BMW has added the optional “AC Charging Professional” package, priced at €740, which increases AC charging capacity from 11 kW to 22 kW and includes a Vehicle-to-Load function capable of supplying external devices with up to 3.7 kW. New exterior paint colours and interior design options have also been introduced.

Despite the higher price, demand for the iX3 appears strong. Industry sources said that blind orders placed before customers have been able to see or test-drive the vehicle have already accounted for nearly all planned production volumes for 2026. Series production at BMW’s Debrecen plant began in October 2025, and the company has previously said it plans to add an additional shift to accelerate output.
For now, the iX3 is available only in Europe. BMW has said the first model from its Neue Klasse lineup will reach the U.S. market from mid-2026, with initial production also coming from Debrecen. Production at BMW’s plant in San Luis Potosí is not expected to begin until mid-2027. A long-wheelbase version of the iX3 for China will be produced at the Shenyang plant and offered in selected Asian markets.
