Ford Ireland and Ford Pro have selected Ohme as their home charging partner in Ireland, providing eligible customers with a home electric vehicle charger and standard installation under the Ford Power Promise programme.
Under the arrangement, participating Ford dealers across the Republic of Ireland will offer Ohme chargers to qualifying purchasers of electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles. The offer applies to passenger vehicles ordered through April 30, 2026, and to commercial vehicles through March 31, 2026.
The partnership includes charger supply, installation services, dealer training and ongoing support. Ohme’s charging platform allows automated scheduling based on electricity tariffs and integrates with Irish energy providers including Energia Group, SSE Airtricity, Power NI and Click NI.
Ford said the Power Promise programme is intended to address common barriers to EV adoption, particularly around access to home charging. In addition to the charger, qualifying customers receive an eight-year or 160,000-kilometre warranty on high-voltage components and the battery, a five-year service plan, five years of roadside assistance, and access to the BlueOval Charge Network, which includes more than 2,100 public charge points across Ireland.
Ohme’s chargers use live grid data to optimise charging times and can also support solar-assisted charging for households with photovoltaic systems. Ford said off-peak charging under certain tariffs can reduce operating costs compared with conventional petrol vehicles, depending on usage and energy prices.
Ohme is headquartered in Cork and operates across the UK and Ireland. The company already works with Ford in the UK through a separate partnership. Ford Ireland said the collaboration comes as demand for electric vehicles continues to grow, with the company reporting a sharp increase in electric passenger vehicle sales over the past year.
The standard offer includes an Ohme ePod charger with driveway installation. Customers eligible for the Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland home charger grant will receive the installation at no additional cost, while customers who do not qualify must cover the grant amount. Non-standard installations may incur extra charges.
