Nio said it has delivered the 50,000th unit of its third-generation ES8 sport utility vehicle, reaching the milestone just 19 days after passing 40,000 deliveries, as demand for the flagship model continues to build.
The Chinese electric vehicle maker held a delivery ceremony for the 50,000th all-new ES8 in Suzhou, Jiangsu province, according to images shared by the company on Weibo on Sunday. The milestone was reached about 120 days after the launch of the third-generation ES8.

Nio officially unveiled the updated ES8 at Nio Day on Sept. 20, 2025, with customer deliveries beginning the following day. The three-row electric SUV is offered in six- and seven-seat configurations and starts at RMB 406,800 ($58,370), including the battery, placing it among the most expensive models in Nio’s lineup and among the highest-priced vehicles produced by a domestic Chinese automaker.
The company reached 40,000 deliveries of the third-generation ES8 on Dec. 29, meeting its full-year 2025 delivery target for the model. Earlier this month, Nio said a third-generation ES8 had also become its one-millionth mass-produced vehicle overall, marking a separate manufacturing milestone.

The ES8 is built at Nio’s F2 plant in Hefei, Anhui province, where the automaker has been expanding production capacity. William Li, Nio’s founder, chairman and chief executive, said previously that the company is continuing to scale manufacturing and infrastructure as it seeks to stabilize deliveries.
Nio reported deliveries of 48,135 vehicles in December, surpassing its previous monthly record of 40,397 units set in October. The company has also reported early momentum at its newer brands. Firefly, Nio’s premium compact car marque, reached cumulative deliveries of 40,000 vehicles about nine months after the launch of its first model, the company has said.

The ES8 delivery milestone comes as Nio continues to push newer, higher-priced models to improve its product mix, while competition in China’s electric vehicle market remains intense.
