BYD’s personalised vehicle sub-brand Fang Cheng Bao has surpassed cumulative sales of 300,000 units, underscoring rapid growth driven by strong demand for its Tai series of SUVs.
Fang Cheng Bao announced the milestone on Thursday via the social media platform Weibo, just 70 days after reporting cumulative sales of 200,000 units. The brand was launched by BYD in August 2023 as a higher-margin, design- and lifestyle-focused offering.

The Tai 7 hybrid SUV has reached cumulative sales of 100,000 units, Fang Cheng Bao said, accounting for roughly one-third of the brand’s total deliveries. The model was introduced in September 2025 and has quickly become one of the brand’s core volume drivers.
Fang Cheng Bao entered the market with the Bao 5 off-road SUV in November 2023, followed by the Bao 8 off-road SUV in November 2024. The Tai series, positioned more toward family and urban use, expanded the lineup with the Tai 3 SUV in April last year and the Tai 7 in September.

The Tai 7 is a mid-size family SUV measuring nearly five metres in length, with a wheelbase of 2,920 mm. In China, the model currently starts at 179,800 yuan ($25,800), placing it in a competitive segment of the domestic hybrid SUV market.
Sales momentum accelerated toward the end of the year. Fang Cheng Bao delivered a record 50,868 vehicles in December, the first time it exceeded the 50,000-unit monthly mark. December sales were up more than 345% year on year.
The Tai series accounted for the majority of that volume, with the Tai 3 selling 5,530 units and the Tai 7 delivering 34,088 units in December. The Bao 5 and Bao 8 off-road models sold 8,777 and 2,473 units respectively during the month.
