Zeekr Technology Europe and software engineering company Intellias presented an artificial intelligence-based system for testing in-vehicle infotainment (IVI) software at CES 2026, outlining how the approach could streamline quality assurance processes for increasingly software-driven vehicles.
The system combines computer vision with vision-language models to automate visual user interface testing across functions such as navigation, media, connectivity and comfort controls. According to the companies, test cases can be generated directly from written requirements and user experience design guidelines, reducing the need for manually scripted tests and human-led validation.

Zeekr and Intellias said the automated process can complete validation cycles up to four times faster than conventional manual testing, while achieving accuracy levels above 95% across large test volumes. The system is designed to interpret on-screen content in a way similar to human testers, allowing it to identify layout inconsistencies, verify user interaction flows and observe performance behaviour during operation.
“This innovation changes how we approach EV software development,” said Christian Hering, head of intelligent software at Zeekr Technology Europe. “What once required hundreds of hours of manual effort is now automated with even greater precision.”

The companies said the solution can be integrated into continuous integration and deployment workflows and can adjust to changes in operating conditions without requiring updates to test scripts. This includes scenarios such as navigation, where route data, charging locations and points of interest may change dynamically.
Juergen Friese, senior vice president of the mobility business at Intellias, said the approach is intended to support faster development cycles while maintaining consistent quality. “We believe that this AI-powered quality assurance solution for visual testing will help Zeekr accelerate development and strengthen product quality,” he said.

The technology is being demonstrated at CES 2026 in Las Vegas, using both direct screen capture and external camera-based recognition to reflect different testing environments. The companies said the demonstrations are intended to show how the system performs under conditions closer to real-world vehicle use.
Zeekr Technology Europe, headquartered in Gothenburg, Sweden, was founded in 2013 under the name CEVT and has since developed vehicle platforms used across multiple models. Intellias provides engineering and digital solutions for automotive and mobility clients, including work on software, data and AI-based systems.
