IM Motors reported record full-year sales of 81,017 vehicles in 2025 and said it achieved profitability on a full-cost basis in December, marking a milestone for the five-year-old electric vehicle brand as it enters what it described as a more stable earnings phase.
IM Motors said monthly deliveries have exceeded 10,000 units for four consecutive months since September, lifting its sales momentum toward year-end. December’s performance coincided with the brand’s fifth anniversary and marked the first time it posted a profit after accounting for all costs.

The company attributed much of the growth to its “Stellar” super range-extender technology, jointly developed with SAIC Motor and battery supplier CATL. The system uses what IM describes as the largest mass-produced 66 kWh range-extender battery currently on the market, offering a CLTC-rated pure-electric range of about 450 km and a combined range of more than 1,500 km.
Paired with an 800-volt electrical architecture, the technology supports ultra-fast charging, adding up to 310 km of range in around 15 minutes. IM said this has helped address range and charging concerns, particularly among drivers in colder northern regions, users without access to home charging, and customers switching from conventional gasoline vehicles.

On the product front, the LS6 and LS9 SUVs emerged as the brand’s main volume drivers. The LS6, positioned in the RMB 200,000 segment as an 800V large-battery range-extended model, secured more than 10,000 confirmed orders within minutes of its pre-sale launch and accounted for roughly two-thirds of IM’s total sales in the first 11 months of the year. The higher-end LS9 targets the RMB 300,000 class, featuring dual-motor all-wheel drive and a claimed 0–100 km/h acceleration of around four seconds.
IM said overseas expansion also accelerated in 2025, its first year of exports, with the brand entering 16 international markets including Thailand, the UK and Australia. Overseas orders exceeded internal expectations, the company said.

Looking ahead, IM Motors said it plans to ramp up mass production of by-wire chassis technology, expand the rollout of Level 3 autonomous driving features and continue refining its product lineup and international footprint in 2026. The brand said it will continue to pursue a technology-led strategy as it scales both at home and abroad.
