Toyota Motor North America said full-year U.S. sales reached 2,518,071 vehicles in 2025, up 8.0% from a year earlier. Sales of electrified vehicles—including hybrids, plug-in hybrids and battery-electric models—totaled 1,183,248 units, an increase of 17.6%, representing 47.0% of total sales volume.
Fourth-quarter sales rose 8.1% year on year to 652,195 vehicles. Electrified vehicle sales in the quarter totaled 290,840 units, down 1.9% from a year earlier, reflecting a moderation in demand late in the year, though they still made up 44.6% of quarterly sales.
December sales also showed solid overall growth. Toyota Motor North America delivered 231,513 vehicles during the month, up 10.3% from December 2024. Electrified vehicle sales totaled 104,088 units, representing 45.0% of monthly volume.
“We’re grateful for the strong response from our Toyota customers in 2025, which reflects our deep commitment to affordability and choice,” said Andrew Gilleland, senior vice president of the Automotive Operations Group at Toyota Motor North America. He said demand was supported by high-volume models such as the Camry, Corolla and RAV4, alongside a broad lineup of vehicles priced below $30,000.
The Toyota division reported full-year sales of 2,147,811 vehicles, up 8.1%, while quarterly sales increased 9.3% to 552,510 units. December sales rose nearly 12% year on year to 193,280 vehicles.
At the luxury end, the Lexus division posted 2025 U.S. sales of 370,260 vehicles, up 7.1% from the prior year. Quarterly sales increased 2.3% to 99,685 units, while December deliveries rose 3.2% to 38,233 vehicles.
“We also had an exceptional year at Lexus,” Gilleland said, noting increased interest in the brand’s advanced technology and expanding electrified lineup.
Toyota said it expects electrified vehicles—particularly hybrids—to remain a key growth driver in the U.S. market as customers seek lower-emission options without fully transitioning to battery-electric vehicles.
