Deepal, the new energy vehicle (NEV) division of Changan Automobile, has introduced two new battery electric variants of its updated S07 mid-size SUV, extending the model’s driving range less than three months after its latest refresh. The launch coincides with Deepal surpassing a cumulative delivery milestone of 700,000 vehicles.
The new versions deliver a 630-kilometre range on the China Light-Duty Vehicle Test Cycle (CLTC) and come equipped with Huawei’s Qiankun ADS SE intelligent driving system as standard. They join two existing BEV variants that offer a 550-km CLTC range, in addition to three extended-range electric (EREV) versions already in the lineup.

Pricing for the new S07 BEV variants starts at RMB 164,900 (US$23,350) and RMB 174,900, with Deepal offering a limited-time RMB 11,000 discount that lowers effective starting prices to RMB 153,900 and RMB 163,900.

The five-seat SUV measures 4,750 mm in length, 1,930 mm in width and 1,625 mm in height, with a 2,900-mm wheelbase. Power is provided by a rear-mounted motor generating up to 190 kW, enabling acceleration from 0–100 km/h in 7.5 seconds. Both new variants use a 77.94-kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery pack, larger than the 68.82-kWh pack found in the earlier BEV options.

The Deepal S07 was first introduced on July 25, 2024, and received its most recent update on September 19. The brand, launched by Changan in 2022, entered the market with the SL03 — positioned as a competitor to the Tesla Model 3 — and has since expanded its lineup to include the L06 and L07 sedans, the S05 and S09 SUVs, and the G318 SUV. Deepal announced earlier this week that it has delivered 700,000 vehicles to date.
