Zest, a U.K. charging point operator, has been selected by the London Borough of Hounslow to install and manage new rapid electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure. The contract focuses on expanding the borough’s existing high-speed charging network, with approximately 100 parking spaces already identified for the new installations.
This deployment is one component of the Council’s broader initiative, first announced in 2022, to install over 2,000 new charge points across the borough by 2026. The entire fast and rapid charge point rollout is being fully funded by the charge point operators.

While details on specific hardware models were not disclosed, both parties confirmed that the new Zest charge points will feature the latest technology, high-speed charging capability, contactless and app-based payment options, and 24/7 customer support.
Robin Heap, CEO of Zest, emphasized the expected impact of the new chargers: “Hounslow Council is backing its ambitious strategy with bold action, and we are proud they chose to work with Zest.” Heap noted that the high-quality amenities would “enable residents, visitors and local businesses to charge their vehicles quickly and conveniently, making it easier to switch to EV.”

By working with industry partners, we’re ensuring residents have convenient, reliable and affordable options for charging close to home and across Hounslow.”
