MAN Truck & Bus has delivered the first two units of its long-haul electric truck, the eTGX, to the Italian transport company Koinè. The battery-electric vehicles will be immediately integrated into the logistics operations of the beverage manufacturer Sanpellegrino, a brand owned by Nestlé Waters.
The delivery marks the beginning of a multi-year fleet transition plan, under which Koinè, one of Europe’s largest logistics providers operating nearly 1,000 vehicles, intends to acquire up to 50 eTGX units from MAN.

Koinè, based between Bergamo and Milan, is strategically investing in renewable energy to power its electric fleet transition. The company is installing a solar power system at its new logistics center in Levate, with a generating capacity of up to five megawatts, which will provide a substantial amount of electricity for the trucks’ large battery systems.
Paolo Toccafondi, Managing Director of Koinè, outlined the company’s aggressive sustainability target. “Our ambition: to electrify up to one-third of our fleet within the next three years. For us, sustainability is not just a goal—it’s a daily commitment. With MAN eTGX, we can guarantee our customers, such as the Sanpellegrino Group, safe, efficient, and environmentally responsible transport,” Toccafondi explained.

The first two eTGX trucks will be utilized on dedicated routes between Sanpellegrino’s production sites and Koinè’s logistics depots in Madone and Levate, covering approximately 250,000 kilometres annually. These routes were carefully selected to align optimally with the range and charging requirements of the electric trucks.
Svante Palebo, Global Head of Supply Chain at Sanpellegrino’s parent company, Nestlé Waters, underscored the significance of the project to their decarbonization goals. “Electrifying transport is one of the key levers of our decarbonization strategy. Thanks to initiatives like this, we continue to make our supply chain more efficient, responsible, and ready for future challenges,” Palebo stated.

Michael Kobriger, Member of the Board for Production & Logistics at MAN, reiterated the manufacturer’s commitment to the energy transition. “Every MAN eTGX delivered is a step toward the future of transport. Our mission is to provide vehicles that combine cutting-edge technology with environmental responsibility, supporting our customers in their energy transition,” he said.
The MAN eTGX long-haul model, which offers configurations with up to six battery packs and a range of around $500$ km, was first delivered to customers in October 2024.
