Chery’s premium automotive brand Exeed is set to further expand its ET lineup with a new model, the ET7 SUV, according to the latest filing with China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT).
The ET7 was listed in MIIT’s newest catalog of vehicles awaiting sales approval, released on November 11 for public comment. Feedback will be accepted through November 17. Inclusion in this catalog represents the final major regulatory step before a vehicle can be sold in China. The ET7 appears under four model codes — SQR6501BEVE0Y3, SQR6500BEVE0YB, SQR6500REEVE0YA, and SQR6500REEVE0Y7 — with production slated for Chery’s Wuhu facility in Anhui province.

The all-new Exeed ET7 will be offered in both battery electric vehicle (BEV) and extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) configurations. The BEV version comes in single- and dual-motor variants, with the single-motor model featuring a 230 kW (308 hp) rear motor and the dual-motor setup adding a 123 kW front motor. The EREV models will include a 1.5-liter range-extending engine capable of producing up to 115 kW.

Measuring 4,988 mm in length, 1,975 mm in width, and 1,710 mm in height, the five-seat SUV has a wheelbase of 3,000 mm and a curb weight ranging from 2,200 to 2,400 kilograms. The ET7’s top speed is rated between 195 and 210 kilometers per hour. Battery suppliers for the model include CATL (HKG: 3750) and Gotion High-tech, providing both ternary lithium and lithium iron phosphate (LFP) packs.

The filing follows Exeed’s debut of the smaller ET5 midsize SUV at the Chengdu Auto Show in late August, aimed at family SUV buyers. Pre-sales for the ET5 are scheduled to begin on November 13. The ET5 will be the first model to feature Horizon Robotics’ Journey 6P chip and HSD (Horizon SuperDrive) urban driving assistance system.
In China, the ET5 name is also associated with Nio Inc’s (NYSE: NIO) midsize electric sedan, while Nio’s lineup extends to the larger ET7 and flagship ET9 sedans. Exeed, however, continues to expand its own electric range under both the ET and Sterra sub-brands, with current offerings including the Sterra ET and Sterra ES models.
