BYD’s off-road sub-brand Fang Cheng Bao has achieved a major milestone, surpassing 100,000 deliveries of its flagship Bao 5 SUV less than a year after the model’s debut.
The 100,000th Bao 5 was delivered on October 30, with the average transaction price standing at RMB 271,400 ($38,160), according to a company statement on Thursday. The figure suggests that at least 3,395 units were delivered in October, based on cumulative sales data through September.

Launched on November 9, 2023, and delivered from November 23, the Bao 5 is Fang Cheng Bao’s first model, marking the brand’s entry into the competitive off-road SUV segment. The vehicle measures 4,890 mm in length, 1,970 mm in width, and 1,920 mm in height, with a 2,800 mm wheelbase. It offers a 47.8-kWh LFP blade battery, providing 210 kilometres of pure electric range and a combined CLTC range of 1,310 kilometres.
The Long Range Edition, launched on October 20, is available in four trims priced between RMB 269,800 and RMB 329,800. Earlier this year, Fang Cheng Bao introduced the Smart Driving Edition, priced from RMB 239,800 to RMB 329,800, offering a 125-kilometre CLTC range.

Fang Cheng Bao’s strong performance has contributed to rapid growth within BYD’s expanding premium portfolio. The brand delivered a record 24,121 units in September, a 344.87 percent year-on-year increase, led by the Tai 3 and Tai 7 SUVs, launched earlier this year.
