Arcfox, the electric vehicle unit of Beijing Automotive Group (BAIC Group), has begun pre-sales for the updated Alpha T5 SUV, marking a significant milestone as the brand’s first model to offer both battery electric vehicle (BEV) and extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) variants.
The company announced that pre-orders for the all-new Alpha T5 are now open, with pre-sale prices starting at RMB 123,800 ($17,340). Arcfox is offering six variants during the pre-sale phase — two EREV and four BEV models. The EREV versions are priced at RMB 123,800 and RMB 135,800, while the BEV options are listed at RMB 126,800, RMB 138,800, RMB 156,800, and RMB 162,800.

The redesigned Alpha T5 measures 4,760 mm in length, 1,936 mm in width, and 1,650 mm in height, with a 2,845 mm wheelbase — extending 70 mm longer than its predecessor while retaining other dimensions.
The Alpha T5 EREV debuts as Arcfox’s first extended-range electric model, featuring BAIC’s Shenqing extended-range system. The setup delivers 200 kW of peak power and 360 Nm of torque, enabling acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.5 seconds. The EREV offers an electric-only range of 215 km, and when fully charged and fueled, a combined range of up to 1,215 km, according to Arcfox.
Meanwhile, the Alpha T5 BEV is powered by CATL-supplied batteries and built on an 800-volt high-voltage platform supporting 5C ultra-fast charging, offering a maximum driving range of 705 km.

Arcfox is among China’s earliest new energy vehicle (NEV) startups. While it actively reported sales in 2020, public disclosures have been limited since 2021 amid modest performance. The company recently expanded its lineup with the T1 compact EV, launched on September 11, starting at RMB 62,800.
The previous-generation Alpha T5 BEV had been priced between RMB 119,800 and RMB 167,800, suggesting that Arcfox is positioning the updated version competitively to attract more buyers in China’s increasingly crowded EV market.
