Chinese smart electric vehicle maker XPeng said it will expand its fast-charging network in Southeast Asia through a partnership with Charge Plus, adding 3,800 public charging piles across Singapore, Malaysia, and Thailand. The move takes XPeng’s global partner charging network to more than 2.4 million stations across Europe and the Asia-Pacific region.
The partnership will give XPeng customers access to Singapore’s largest public charging network, which accounts for more than 30% of the local market, and to stations covering 5,000 kilometers of highways across five countries. XPeng said it is the first emerging Chinese EV brand to partner with Charge Plus in the region, strengthening its service coverage in Southeast Asia.
The first co-branded stations are already operating in major cities across Thailand, Malaysia, and Singapore. XPeng owners will be offered exclusive benefits such as charging discounts and seamless integration of station availability into their vehicles’ display systems for easier navigation.
The expansion supports XPeng’s 800V vehicle lineup, including the G6, G9, and X9 models. The G6, based on the company’s next-generation 800V architecture, can charge from 10% to 80% in 12 minutes with peak charging power of 451 kW, XPeng said.
Looking ahead, the company said it aims to roll out additional user benefits and services in collaboration with Charge Plus. By the end of 2025, the two firms plan to introduce one-stop payment functions via XPeng’s mobile app as part of a “drive-in, charge and go” experience.
