Tesla delivered a record 7,974 vehicles in South Korea in August, marking its strongest monthly sales performance in the country and solidifying South Korea as its third-largest market globally after the United States and China.
The Model Y led the surge with 6,683 units sold, making it the best-selling imported car in the market, while the Model 3 added 1,290 deliveries, according to data from the Korea Automobile Importers & Distributors Association (KAIDA). Combined, the two models secured the top three positions in South Korea’s imported car rankings.
Imported car sales overall rose 22.6% year-on-year to 27,304 units in August, with Tesla accounting for nearly 30% of the total, Yonhap reported. The company’s August results follow 7,357 deliveries in July and a record-setting run earlier in May when it first topped the monthly imported car chart.
Tesla has sold 34,543 vehicles in South Korea so far in 2025, its highest cumulative figure since entering the market. The upcoming introduction of the Cybertruck, which went on sale in the country last month, is expected to further boost sales this year.
