Daimler Truck has begun deliveries of its Mercedes-Benz eEconic electric heavy-duty truck in Singapore, providing the city-state with low-emission solutions for waste management, the company said on Monday.
In partnership with local dealer Cycle & Carriage, Daimler Truck handed over the first eEconic to 800 Super Holdings Limited, a private waste management company. The company plans to supply a total of 18 units under the current order.
The eEconic, unveiled at IFAT 2022, is a low-floor truck built on the Mercedes-Benz eActros platform. It features two electric motors delivering 330 kW continuous output (400 kW peak) and a two-speed transmission. The vehicle, configured in a 6×2 layout, has a gross vehicle weight of 27 tonnes and a payload capacity of around 17.8 tonnes, Daimler Truck said.

Three 97 kWh battery packs power the truck, supporting fast charging up to 160 kW and enabling 20–80% charge in about 75 minutes. Depending on usage, the vehicle can travel up to 100 km in municipal operations or 150 km in mixed-duty scenarios.
Singapore’s Land Transport Authority estimates heavy vehicles account for roughly 31% of land transport emissions, and the government has launched schemes such as the Heavy Vehicle Zero Emissions Scheme and the Electric Heavy Vehicle Charger Grant to promote adoption of electric trucks.
Daimler Truck has expanded the eEconic’s applications beyond waste management. In March, the company delivered an aircraft fuel tanker variant to Skytanking at Stuttgart Airport, and in October, a helicopter refuelling version to Airbus Helicopters in Germany. The truck is also being considered for future firefighting applications.
