BYD just unveiled the 2022 Tang EV on Friday which has a maximum range of 730 km. The 2022 Tang EV will be launched in mid-May after previously Pre-sales of the vehicle were scheduled to start in mid-to-late April.
The 2022 Tang EV has an estimated price of 300,000-350,000 yuan ($47,147-$50,0005). Dimensionally the 2022 Tang EV has a length, width and height of 4,900 mm, 1950 mm and 1725 mm, and a wheelbase of 2,820 mm.
This model comes with a “Dragon Face” design and features an active air intake grille and cropped taillights.
From the interior, the 2022 Tang EV is equipped with a 12.3-inch LCD dashboard and a 15.6-inch adaptive central control panel. It includes the DiLink 4.0 (5G) smart internet system and 12 separate speakers for entertainment needs.
The 2022 Tang EV has two motors with a maximum power of 180kW + 200kW. With these specs, the 2022 Tang EV only takes 4.4 seconds to accelerate from 0 to 100km/h.
The two-wheel drive model uses a single 180kW motor. The high-performance model and the single-motor model have a range of 635km and 730km, respectively. Both models use BYD blade batteries.
BYD recently announced that will stop producing vehicles with internal combustion engines from March 2022. The company will focus on its pure electric and plug-in hybrid business in the future.
Previously, BYD also unveiled an official image of the Seal sedan, which is the new mid-size all-electric from the Shenzhen-based manufacturer. BYD Seal adopts the company’s latest design line and is scheduled to be unveiled to the public in April this year.
