Changan Mazda has started mass production of the EZ-60 crossover SUV at its Nanjing facility, marking the joint venture’s second global electric model following the EZ-6 sedan. The EZ-60 will be available as both a pure battery-electric vehicle (BEV) and a range-extender variant, with deliveries in China expected to begin at the end of September. The model is also scheduled to arrive in Europe, where it will be marketed as the Mazda CX6-e.
The EZ-60, first unveiled at Auto Shanghai in April, has received strong early interest. According to CN EV News, the model accumulated 10,060 pre-orders within 48 hours of opening sales and had reached about 38,000 by mid-summer. Changan Mazda invested nearly 200 million yuan (around 24 million euros) to establish a dedicated production line for the vehicle.

Built on Changan’s EPA1 platform, the EZ-60 features rear-wheel drive, a wheelbase of 2.90 metres, and a weight just under two tonnes. The BEV variant is expected to deliver a driving range of around 600 km under China’s test cycle, with power output rated at 190 kW. The range-extender version pairs the same motor with a 1.5-litre petrol engine producing 72 kW and a 32 kWh LFP battery, offering an estimated 160 km of pure electric range.
Design elements include narrow LED daytime running lights, retractable door handles, camera-based side mirrors, and a distinctive front light signature. Inside, the EZ-60 is equipped with a 26.45-inch central display, virtual head-up display, voice and gesture controls, and remote parking functionality. Customers will be able to choose between 19-inch or 21-inch wheels.

While a firm timeline for the European rollout has not been announced, the EZ-6 sedan took roughly a year to transition from launch in China to its arrival in Europe, suggesting a similar schedule for the CX6-e.
