Aston Martin is rumored to be launching a third mid-engine supercar in 2023. This new supercar candidate will build on the Aston Martin Vanquish concept car introduced in 2019 equipped with a V8 engine from AMG.
According to Aston Martin President Lawrence Strol that the production version of this supercar candidate will eliminate the Vanquish name used in the concept car in 2019.
Like the previous product, the British car manufacturer hints that the concept version will be much different from the production version, both in terms of engineering and design. With this new electric-driven product, it further strengthens Aston Martin’s plan to bring the entire line-up electric powered by 2025.
Prospective Aston Martin supercar is reportedly using carbon fiber material for the body with aerodynamics inspired by the Aston Martin Valkyrie. In addition to an overall weight of around 1,500 kg, the infotainment system will use the latest Aston Martin entertainment technology used in the product line up produced by the end of 2022.
Regarding performance, this supercar candidate is rumored to be equipped with a 4,000 cc V8 engine belonging to Mercedes-AMG combined with a hybrid system. The petrol engine itself is capable of producing 630 hp and 900 Nm of torque. Meanwhile, the electric drive is able to increase power up to 201 hp, so that the combined power reaches 831 hp.
With these specifications, this supercar will most likely compete with the Ferrari 296 GTB and electric-driven Lamborghini Huracan.
Reportedly, the debut of the V8-engined Aston Martin supercar is expected in the second half of 2023.
