Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer Nio said it will reschedule its flagship annual event, Nio Day, from its traditional December slot to the fall, marking the first such change in eight years. The decision is intended to better align with product deliveries and peak fourth-quarter sales.
The company confirmed that Nio Day 2025 will take place this fall, a move reached after consulting with members of its user community. According to a post on the Nio App, the event will coincide with the launch of the third-generation ES8, a luxury three-row flagship SUV that recently appeared in the regulatory filing catalog of China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.
“The adjustment aligns with the delivery schedule of a key product in the fourth quarter, thereby enhancing the cost-effectiveness of the event,” Nio said in the announcement.
The automaker highlighted that hosting the event in the autumn not only offers more favorable weather and greater flexibility in venue selection but also avoids scheduling conflicts with Christmas, potentially making it easier for international users to attend.
To prepare for the event, Nio has begun recruiting members for its Nio Day 2025 User Advisory Committee. The shift in timing signals a broader strategic shift toward improving operational efficiency as Nio looks to streamline spending around major promotional events.
Traditionally held in December, Nio Day serves as the company’s most significant annual gathering, typically featuring the unveiling of new vehicles and technology platforms. The 2024 edition was held in Guangzhou and included the debut of the ET9 flagship sedan and the launch of the Firefly brand for premium compact EVs.
