Chinese electric vehicle maker Leapmotor, backed by Stellantis NV, reported record deliveries in May, supported by strong demand for its newly launched models.
The company delivered 45,067 vehicles in May, setting a new monthly record and surpassing the previous peak of 42,517 units in December 2024. This marks a 148.1% increase from the 18,165 units delivered in the same month last year and a 9.8% rise from April’s total of 41,039 vehicles.

Leapmotor has set an ambitious full-year sales target of 500,000 to 600,000 units, nearly double the 293,724 vehicles it delivered in 2024.
The surge in sales was primarily driven by the introduction of the all-electric B10 compact SUV and the 2026 C10 SUV, both launched in the past two months. The B10, priced from RMB 99,800 ($13,860), debuted on April 10 and began deliveries on April 19. Leapmotor said it secured 10,016 firm orders within one hour of the model’s release.

On May 15, the automaker introduced the 2026 version of its C10 SUV, offering both battery electric (BEV) and extended-range electric (EREV) variants. The new C10 BEV is available in three trims starting at RMB 122,800, down 4.7% from the previous generation’s RMB 128,800 entry price.
Leapmotor is among several Chinese EV makers intensifying efforts to expand market share amid growing competition at home and abroad, including from rivals such as BYD, Li Auto, and Xpeng.
