BYD has unveiled the Sealion 07 DM-i, a mid-to-large-size hybrid SUV and sibling to the all-electric Sealion 07 EV, expanding its Ocean series lineup.
The new model is available in three variants priced at RMB 169,800 ($23,460), RMB 179,800, and RMB 205,800. It is built on BYD’s fifth-generation DM hybrid platform, known as DM 5.0, which was launched in May and promises enhanced fuel efficiency.

Measuring 4,880 mm in length with a 2,820 mm wheelbase, the Sealion 07 DM-i is powered by a 1.5T engine producing 115 kW and 225 Nm of torque. The two lower variants are front-wheel-drive with 200 kW of peak power, accelerating from 0–100 km/h in 7.9 seconds. The top-tier variant adds a rear motor for a combined 150 kW and 340 Nm, reducing 0–100 km/h acceleration to 4.7 seconds.
All variants feature BYD’s Blade Battery with 26.6 kWh capacity, offering 135 km to 150 km of electric-only CLTC range. When fully fueled and charged, the hybrid SUV can travel up to 1,320 kilometers.

Driver assistance systems include BYD’s DiPilot 100 and DiPilot 300, with the highest trim supporting urban and highway Navigate on Autopilot (NOA). The vehicle also offers DiLink 100 infotainment and integrates DeepSeek’s AI models for its voice assistant.
An optional Ling Yuan drone system, co-developed with DJI, is also supported. The Sealion 07 DM-i becomes the fourth model in the Sealion lineup, joining the Sealion 07 EV and both hybrid and electric versions of the smaller Sealion 05 SUV.
