Jeep has introduced a new generation of its Compass SUV, now available as a fully electric model built on Stellantis’ STLA Medium platform. The latest version features either front- or all-wheel drive and delivers up to 650 kilometres of range in its AWD configuration, according to the company.
The new Compass measures 4.55 metres in length, making it one of the more compact vehicles on the STLA Medium platform, alongside models such as the Peugeot e-3008. Other platform-based vehicles, like the Opel Grandland Electric and Peugeot e-5008, are notably larger, stretching to 4.65 and 4.79 metres respectively.

In its base configuration, the electric Compass is equipped with a 157 kW front-wheel drive system and a 74 kWh battery pack, enabling a WLTP range of up to 500 kilometres. This setup is already in use across other Stellantis brands. The all-wheel drive version, however, marks a new development for Jeep. It uses a 276 kW dual-motor configuration, including a newly developed rear motor exclusive to the Jeep brand.
Jeep says the rear motor delivers an additional 49 kW and up to 232 Nm of torque. With a 14:1 reduction gearbox, it produces up to 3,100 Nm of torque at the rear wheels. “This provides maximum traction in the most demanding situations and the ability to climb a 20% gradient even when the front wheels have no traction,” Jeep stated in a release.

The battery capacity for the AWD variant was not specified, but the 650 km range and DC fast charging capacity of up to 160 kW suggest it is using the familiar 97 kWh pack seen in other STLA Medium models. Charging from 20 to 80 per cent is expected to take around 30 minutes via DC, while a 22 kW AC onboard charger is also included.
The vehicle features several updates over its predecessor, including a slightly extended wheelbase that adds 55 millimetres of legroom and increases boot capacity by 45 litres to 550 litres with all five seats in use.

A redesigned interior includes a 16-inch central touchscreen for infotainment and a 10-inch digital instrument cluster. Jeep says the model will remain “always up to date” through over-the-air software updates. The Compass also includes Level 2 driver assistance features, such as adaptive cruise control and lane keeping.
At launch, the Compass Electric is being offered as a hybrid and as a fully electric model in a First Edition trim. The electric First Edition is listed on Jeep’s German website starting at €50,400, though the configurator has not yet been activated. In Austria, the model will start at €49,300, according to a local press release.
