Yangwang, the premium electric vehicle brand under China’s BYD, on Wednesday unveiled the U8L, an extended version of its U8 off-road SUV, at the 2025 Shanghai Auto Show. The model is expected to launch in the second half of this year.
The U8L measures 5,400 mm in length with a 3,250 mm wheelbase, making it longer and offering more rear cabin space than the original U8, which is 5,319 mm long with a 3,050 mm wheelbase.

The company said the U8L offers the longest body, wheelbase, and second-row seating area among mainstream SUVs in its segment.
Yangwang did not disclose pricing for the U8L but indicated it would carry a higher price tag than the regular U8, which debuted in September 2023 with a starting price of RMB 1.098 million ($150,440).
The new model features three gold-colored badges made from 24-carat gold, underlining its positioning in the ultra-luxury SUV market.
