Polish electric bus maker Solaris has received a significant new order from Swedish public transport operator Nobina for 89 units of its Urbino 15 LE electric buses. The vehicles are scheduled for delivery in the first half of 2026 and will be deployed across the greater Stockholm area, the company announced.
The Urbino 15 LE electric, a 15-metre low-entry model, was first launched in 2020 and is tailored to meet the specific requirements of Scandinavian markets, where demand for this bus length is higher than in other European regions. The model is equipped with Solaris High Energy batteries and powered by ZF’s 300 kW CeTrax electric central motor. Each bus can accommodate up to 72 passengers.

This latest contract adds to Solaris’ growing footprint in Sweden. Earlier in 2024, Nobina placed two additional orders with the manufacturer — one for 55 electric buses for use in Stockholm, and another for 88 vehicles intended for the Skåne region.
“Delivering yet another substantial batch of our 15-meter fully electric buses, proofs that Nobina’s continued trust in our organization and the quality of our products,” said Solaris CEO Sverre Skaar. “This partnership underscores our commitment to providing sustainable and reliable transportation solutions, and we look forward to further strengthening our relationship with the operator and contributing to greener urban mobility.”
