Cadillac provides interesting data regarding the Cadillac Lyriq which sold out within four hours of opening orders. 70% of Cadillac Lyriq buyers are new to the brand.
These new customers are younger than the average Cadillac customer, with 68% of Lyriq customers belonging to the so-called Gen X and Gen Y demographic groups. Cadillac revealed in a recent media presentation.
Cadilaq orders for their first electric vehicle at 9am and by 1pm the Lyriq has sold out. The party declined to say how many orders Cadillac received.
“This week marked a historic moment in Cadillac’s journey to an all-electric future as the brand’s first EV went on sale. Customer demand for the Lyriq has matched our expectations and we look forward to exceeding their expectations when they take delivery of their Lyriq. ” Says Michael Albano, Executive Director of Cadillac Communications
In March Cadillaq named 233,000 people who expressed interest in Lyriq. At that time, Cadillac said 10 percent of those who expressed an interest in becoming buyers.
Customers who do not successfully register for the 2023 Lyriq will be put on a preorder waiting list. According to Cadillac’s official website, consumers who are on the waiting list will have the first opportunity to order the Lyriq 2024.
The Lyriq is an electric vehicle produced by Cadillac that uses GM’s BEV3 platform. The Lyriq uses an Ultium Drive powertrain and Ultium battery, the Lyriq starts at $62,990 for the 340 hp RWD model and $64,990 for the 500 hp AWD version.
The rear-wheel-drive Lyriq has an EPA range of 312 miles on a 100-kWh battery pack.
