After being on hiatus for two years and experiencing several delays, the prestigious New York Auto Show was held again at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center, Manhattan.

This exhibition is open to the public starting today, Thursday (14/4) until April 24. A number of new models from world car manufacturers were exhibited for the 2022 and 2022 model years. Starting from the line-up of conventional engine vehicles (ICE – Internal Combustion Engine) to electrified cars and also after market products. For the first time, the Micro Mobility Expo was opened, which showcased ‘short’ electric transportation. Contains a variety of information and mobility products suitable for the city of New York.

“We’re back again! In the last two decades, there have been a lot of changes with the presence of new and exciting products, technologies and other developments that we can’t wait to show our potential customers,” said Mark Schienberg as President of the New York Auto Show when opening the exhibition.

From the electric car segment, there is the Kia Niro 2023 facelift through a new design that is different from the hybrid and plug-in hybrid versions. The appearance of the Niro will be accompanied by the Nissan Leaf 2023 which is exhibited with a new front style, as well as the rim design.

Volkswagen did not want to miss the display of ID.Buzz, an electric microbus vehicle that was first introduced to the public in Detroit in 2017. Chrysler brought the SUV Airflow Concept after the concept car debuted at the Consumer Electronics Show last January.

What is quite surprising is the newcomer VinFast from Vietnam. The electric car manufacturer from the ASEAN country will debut at the New York Auto Show by presenting two of its newest SUVs. Namely the VF8 which has a capacity of 5 passengers and the VF9 which has a capacity of three rows of seats. This manufacturer will reportedly produce electric cars and batteries in North Carolina.

Another new thing provided by the organizers at the 2022 event is the location of the EV Test Track. Namely a test drive location for a fully electric car. Visitors can directly drive electric cars from various brands in this place. The cars that can be tried include the Chevrolet Bolt EV, Kia EV6, Nissan Leaf, VinFast VF8, VW ID.4 and Volvo XC40 Recharge Twin
