Buick’s Ultium-based electric vehicle, the Electra E5, is set to make waves in China with its impressive tech-heavy interior. After releasing official exterior photos in December 2022, the brand has now revealed the EV’s sleek and futuristic cabin.
The Electra E5 boasts an Eyemax 30-inch 6K curved OLED display that reflects one billion colors, a new Virtual Cockpit System, a 12.6-inch color head-up display, 121-color surround ambient lighting, and more. The latest Buick eConnect connectivity system is also included, providing customers access to an array of multimedia content through built-in apps. Upgraded intelligent voice commands, customized configurations, and individual recommendations further enhance the user experience.

Other notable features of the Electra E5 include wireless CarPlay and wireless phone charging, iKey digital access, a BioCare intelligent cabin purifying system, and Buick’s QuietTuning technology. The vehicle’s smart cockpit is powered by the VIP electric architecture, utilizing a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 chip. Additionally, the Electra E5 is available with 5G technology, allowing for fast data transmission, smooth operation, and over-the-air updates on multiple vehicle modules at the same time.
Buick emphasizes the vehicle’s segment-leading interior spaciousness, thanks to the Ultium platform and efficient cockpit layout. The long wheelbase and ample legroom in the second row provide passengers with plenty of comfort and flexibility, while the 1,658-liter trunk offers a variety of configurations.

The interior styling of the Electra E5 features a floating instrument panel and door details, sculptural seating, and a choice of colors, creating a light and futuristic feel. The elegant freeform screen integrated into the simplified instrument panel adds a touch of sophistication, while the jewel-like control knob, backlit door handles, and redesigned steering wheel contribute to the vehicle’s upscale ambiance.
