ZF Mobility Solutions has announced a strategic collaboration with Aidrivers to provide autonomous mobility solutions in port logistics, marking a significant shift from manual to autonomous operations in port vehicle management.

The partnership will see AI-enabled autonomous mobility company Aidrivers supplying an autonomous driving software ecosystem, while ZF will serve as the engineering partner for integration, validation, and deployment. The converted vehicles will be capable of operating in mixed traffic operations without the need for special lanes, offering port operators enhanced terminal safety and efficiency through advanced autonomous technologies.

Alexander Makowski, Head of ZF Mobility Solutions, expressed enthusiasm for the collaboration, stating, “Based on our long-term expertise in autonomous driving systems, we are delighted to now also operate successfully in the market as a mobility solutions provider.” He added, “Together with our global aftermarket organisation, we will provide state-of-the-art customer service directly on site.”

Aidrivers CEO Dr. Rafiq Swash also expressed excitement about the partnership with ZF, noting, “We are proud to have won ZF as a global partner with expertise in the field of autonomous driving in a wide range of applications, from passenger cars and commercial vehicles to special vehicles.” He emphasized the compatibility of their collaboration, stating, “This is the perfect match for us as a small, innovative solution provider for autonomous driving in ports and logistics areas.”
