UK fleet electrification firm Zenobē has launched operations in Canada with a CA$48 million (US$35 million) debt facility for Montreal-based 7Gen, aimed at accelerating the deployment of commercial electric vehicles and charging infrastructure across the country.
The financing, described by Zenobē as the largest known private EV debt transaction in Canada to date, will help 7Gen lease and deploy between 400 and 500 electric vans, trucks, and school buses. It will also refinance a portion of the company’s existing fleet, reinforcing its full-service offering for fleet electrification.

Founded in 2020, 7Gen provides electric vehicles and related infrastructure as a service, working with small and medium-sized enterprises, large fleet operators, and school transportation providers. The company’s turnkey approach covers vehicle procurement, financing, charger installation, and energy optimization across key electrification markets in Canada.
“We’re bringing our innovative funding approach to Canada and specifically to 7Gen,” said Steven Meersman, Co-Founder and Director of Zenobē. “We see momentum behind decarbonisation in Canada’s supportive government policies and the clean, affordable power that will ensure a lower total cost of ownership for zero-emissions vehicles.”
