Zeek plans to introduce a new mid-size hybrid SUV, the Zeekr 8X, later this year as it continues to broaden its range of hybrid vehicles. The launch is scheduled for the fourth quarter, CEO Andy An announced during Geely Auto’s first-quarter earnings call.

This year, Zeekr and its sister brand Lynk & Co aim to launch a total of five new models. Alongside the already released Lynk & Co 900 and Zeekr 007 GT, Lynk & Co will debut a hybrid version of its Z10 sedan in the current quarter. Zeekr will follow with the Zeekr 9X and the Zeekr 8X hybrid SUVs in the third and fourth quarters, respectively.

The Zeekr 8X marks its first official mention by company management, though detailed specifications remain undisclosed. Based on its naming, the 8X is expected to be a smaller, more affordable hybrid SUV compared to the Zeekr 9X, which made its world debut at the Shanghai Auto Show in April.

The 9X features CATL’s Freevoy Battery, providing a pure electric range exceeding 380 kilometers and supporting fast charging capabilities, delivering a near battery electric vehicle experience in a hybrid package. It can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just three seconds, highlighting its performance credentials.

Lynk & Co’s recent launch of the flagship Lynk & Co 900 hybrid SUV, priced from RMB 309,900 ($42,480), follows the brands’ integration completed earlier this year. Zeekr previously confirmed plans to release one new model each quarter from the second to the fourth quarter, including a full-size flagship SUV in Q3 and a large luxury SUV with super-electric hybrid technology in Q4.
