Zeekr has unveiled a sneak peek of its upcoming mid-to-large-size SUV, codenamed CX1e, slated for release in the latter half of the year, marking a significant move by the electric vehicle (EV) maker into the family SUV segment.
Vice President Lin Jinwen shared five camouflaged images of the CX1e on Weibo today, the first public preview of Zeekr’s latest addition to its expanding lineup.
“The CX1e will be Zeekr’s inaugural family SUV,” Lin announced on Weibo, hinting at the forthcoming official name concealed within the vehicle’s camouflage liveries.
Zeekr’s current lineup includes models like the Zeekr 001, 007, 009, and Zeekr X, each catering to specific niche markets since its establishment in 2021.
The Zeekr 001, launched in April 2021, introduced a shooting brake style targeted at specialized markets. Subsequent models such as the Zeekr 009 and Zeekr X, launched in 2022 and 2023 respectively, continued this trend with an MPV and compact SUV offering.
The Zeekr 007, Zeekr’s first foray into the mainstream EV market with an electric sedan, hit the market in late 2023.
With the CX1e, Zeekr aims to capture a larger share of the family-oriented EV market, a strategy also pursued by competitors like Li Auto and Nio’s Onvo sub-brand.
“We believe Zeekr’s robust product portfolio positions us well for sustained growth,” remarked Zeekr management during a recent earnings call on June 11.
