Zeekr, Geely’s electric vehicle (EV) brand, aims to double its sales in 2023, according to its CEO, Andy An. In an internal letter, An acknowledged the intense competition in China’s EV market this year and stated that 2023 will be a crucial year for proving Zeekr’s development model.
To meet this challenge, Andy An outlined five key objectives for the company in 2023, including delivering 140,000 vehicles. He emphasized the importance of accomplishing this goal, calling it a “hard battle.” The company also plans to launch two new EV models in 2023.
“The 140,000-unit delivery goal will be a hard battle, and we have to accomplish that mission,” An said.
Zeekr achieved a milestone in December 2022 by delivering a record 11,337 vehicles. This brought the company’s total deliveries for the year to an impressive 71,941 vehicles, surpassing its goal of 70,000.
As a result, Zeekr is aiming to double its deliveries in 2023. The company was established as a standalone entity in March 2021 and debuted its first model, the Zeekr 001, in April of the same year. Deliveries for this model began in October 2021.
In November 2022, Zeekr launched its second model, the Zeekr 009 MPV, and started delivering it in January 2023. The company is planning to launch two more models this year, with the aim of making a strong impact in the market.
“It’s a big product year for Zeekr in 2023, and we need to build popular products, and more importantly, we need to continue to build popular products with system strength,” An said.
