Xpeng has produced its 10,000th next-generation P7 sedan, about a month after the updated model was launched, the Chinese electric vehicle maker said on Thursday. Delivery of the unit is expected in the coming days.

The next-generation P7, unveiled on Aug. 27, introduces a redesigned exterior, upgraded powertrain and new smart driving chips. Xpeng reported more than 10,000 firm orders within minutes of its launch. The sedan is available in four variants priced from 219,800 yuan ($30,860) to 301,800 yuan.

Built on an 800-volt platform, the P7 supports ultra-fast charging that can deliver a 525 km driving range in 10 minutes. The model offers three range configurations of 702 km, 750 km and 820 km. It measures 5,017 mm in length with a wheelbase of 3,008 mm, placing it among the larger electric sedans in the market.

Xpeng delivered 37,709 vehicles in August, its second consecutive record month, marking a 169% increase from a year earlier and a 2.7% rise from July. From January to August, deliveries totaled 271,615 units, up 252% year-on-year. The company has set a goal of nearly doubling annual deliveries from 190,068 units in 2024 to about 380,000 in 2025.

Deutsche Bank this week projected Xpeng’s September deliveries at about 40,000 vehicles, which would mark another monthly record. The bank estimated around 37,000 domestic retail deliveries and 3,000 overseas sales. It also cited dealer feedback indicating roughly 45,000 new orders for September, a 13% month-on-month decline, reflecting softer demand for the G7 SUV and the new P7 sedan.
